Addiction starts as a form of protection that supports us in feeling better. However, every time we need to feel better we go to the addiction instead of the root of what is causing us not to feel good. Soon the addiction controls us because we need it.
Physical and Emotional Pain
Pain is how our body communicates with us. When we experience pain, we learn that there is something off within us. It is up to us to learn how to connect, communicate, and work with our bodies to discover the root of the pain and how to heal it.
While they act originally as protection to keep us safe, yet as we grow our limiting beliefs keep us playing small; it keeps us hiding; it keeps us from living our full potential.
Challenges with Loved Ones
Guide exactly what we need to work on through emotional triggers. Our journey is not to be attached to the outcome and situation, yet to notice what is being played out, how we feel about it, and what would heal the experience.
Feeling and being stuck can keep us safe by stopping us in our tracks from doing something that is scary or that we are afraid won't feel good. As beautiful as that intention is, it is up to use to create a safe place to slowly identify what is holding us back and why we are being held back. Only then can we step into our new truth and regain the power of our momentum towards the next level of what serves our highest and best good.
Feeling overwhelmed can paralyze us in not taking action. The key is to create momentum with small steps that feel good. And then to begin to identify all the big ticket items and what will happen when we accomplish those items.
